The
Chairs . Ghent 17/5/2002
A chair is bound to a person or a guest, sometimes to one, sometimes
to another. A chair has his own life, most of the time, it's waiting
for a guest.
In the classroom the chairs are taken, and 50 minutes later, all
guests leave in chaos. The collegue-chairs in the dining-hall take
over.
What we did here is change roles, the chairs are fixed on the wall,
as if the walk by, in a row,...
The chair see us as 'sticking' to the wall, from their point of
view.
Every student painted a chair, and so takes part in the whole story. |
