1)
What is a Trompe l’oeil-mural?
A painting meant to deceive the spectator. Literally 'to cheat on
the eye'. |
2)
What
is being painted?
From traditional themes e.g. landscapes, to abstract work on demand,
with a fixed theme. |
3) On
which surface?
Painted plaster, wood, canvas, exterior walls, concrete etc.. Any
surface should be prepared with an SATIN ACRYLIC WHITE paint! |
4) Who
determines the theme?
Mostly the client, partly us. Then I make a first design, to show.
I work on the design until it suits the clients wishes. In some cases
clients leave it all to me. |
5) In
which room or place do we paint the mural?
Any place you want: wall, ceiling, floor, furniture, in any room or
outside wall. |
6) Can
a mural be painted outside, and is any special paint used?
On outside walls I use a best-quality outside paint, to garantee a
long mural-life. |
7) Must
a mural be 'fixated'?
No, I use paint, just like in any paint-job. We work with professional
quality-acrylics. |
8) How
do you protect a mural?
Inside with two layers of varnish to also get an equal gloss, outside
a transparent layer is applicated. A varnish outside is useless. |
9) Which
paint is used?
Acrylic paint- the best professional paint for artists. |
10)
How long does a Mural last?
As long as a painting on canvas, eternal, unless your house falls
down. |
11)
What is th price of a mural? (Also visit the
'prices'-page)
250 to 400 Euros per square meter, depending on the complexity of
the design. With a minimum of 1000 Euros.
VAT: 6% on artwork. |
12)
How much time do you put on a painting?
A mural of 10 square meters for example, takes about 6 days to paint.
The design, research, preparation, etc.. is already done at that moment. |
13)
Can you clean a mural?
Yes you can, but more interesting would be to taste wine, or have
a beer, and enjoy life. Personally, I prefer a good coffee, with a
fine biscuit. |
